Cancellation and Refund Policy

 

Eligibility Criteria for Refunds:

Customers are entitled to a refund if the service rendered is materially different from the description provided on the platform, is incomplete, or fails to meet the fundamental quality standards established by TaskOpus.

Refunds shall not be issued once a service has been completed to satisfaction or if the service provider has adhered to all contractual obligations as outlined in the service description.

 

Notice Period:

Refund claims must be submitted within 12 hours following the conclusion of the service. Claims filed subsequent to this period may be deemed ineligible for a refund.

 

Process for Requesting a Refund:

Customers desiring a refund must contact the TaskOpus customer support team through the specified contact methods on our website, providing the order number, service details, and a detailed reason for the refund request and details as required by the TaskOpus.

Service providers are permitted to contest a refund request by submitting a counterclaim with supporting evidence to our customer support team within three days of the initial refund request. Should a service provider be unavailable during the designated training period, TaskOpus reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to evaluate the authenticity of the request and may process the refund accordingly.

 

Service Cancellation Fees:

Customers who wants to make changes to their service less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time are permitted to reschedule or cancel ONLY once. 

 

Adjustments for Partial Services:

In instances where a service is partially delivered and subsequently cancelled, TaskOpus will determine the refund amount, to be prorated based on the percentage of service completion. Such determinations will be made at TaskOpus's sole discretion.

 

Dispute Resolution:

Refund disputes will initially be managed through TaskOpus’s internal review process. Should a resolution not be achieved, parties are entitled to proceed to arbitration, as stipulated in the terms of service https://beta.taskopus.ca/termofuse.

 

Exceptions to the Policy:

Notwithstanding other provisions of this Refund Policy, special promotions or services procured at a discounted rate are exempt from refund eligibility unless explicitly specified at the time of transaction. This includes but is not limited to transactions involving promotional or discount coupons.

Services that are customized and specifically tailored to meet the unique requirements of a customer are generally non-refundable.

Policy Modifications:

TaskOpus reserves the unilateral right to amend this Refund Policy at any given time. Amendments will be communicated to registered users via electronic mail or through a notification or by posting on the TaskOpus platform.

 

Documentation Requirements:

Parties requesting refunds or initiating dispute resolutions are required to submit comprehensive documentation relevant to the transaction. This documentation may include but is not limited to proof of purchase, proof of payment (acquire from third party payment site), chat between customer and service provider, a detailed account of the issue, and any correspondences exchanged between the customer and the service provider pertinent to the service transaction.

 

Quality Assurance Checks:

TaskOpus conducts regular quality assurance evaluations to ensure that services rendered meet the established standards of the platform. Service providers are mandated to comply with these quality benchmarks to mitigate the occurrence of refund claims attributed to service deficiencies.

 

Rebooking Fees:

In cases where cancellation affects resource allocation, a restocking or rebooking fee may apply. This fee compensates for the potential loss of business during reserved times. 

 

Refund Processing Charges:

TaskOpus reserves the right to levy a minimal processing fee on the amount of the refund to cover administrative expenses. This fee, if imposed, shall be explicitly detailed during the refund request process and will amount to $10 to $15, as deemed appropriate by TaskOpus based on the nature and complexity of the refund processing.

 

Seasonal or Peak Time Variations:

During periods of peak demand or seasonal fluctuations, TaskOpus may enforce alternative refund policies. These policy variations will be explicitly communicated to customers during the reservation process.

 

Gift Cards and Vouchers:

Refunds for services purchased via gift cards or vouchers shall be credited back to the original gift card or voucher. Refunds in the form of cash or to alternate payment methods are not permissible under these circumstances. 

 

Non-refundable Deposits:

Certain bookings may require non-refundable deposits to cover upfront costs that cannot be recovered by TaskOpus. These non-refundable terms will be clearly stated at the time of booking.

 

Limitations on Claims:

Customers may initiate a limited number of refund claims within a 90-day period to prevent policy abuse. Excessive claims within this timeframe may prompt an account review, on TaskOpus’s sole discretion. TaskOpus has the right to temporarily suspend your account for fraudulent activities,, or directly reject the refund claim without reviewing it. TaskOpus can de so to prevent refund fraud

 

Tiered Refund Levels:

TaskOpus may implements a tiered refund policy based on cancellation timing. Specific details and percentages associated with these tiers will be communicated clearly at the time of booking. For instance,50% refund if cancelled 24 hours prior, 75% refund if cancelled 48 hours prior, 100% refund if cancelled before 72 days prior, etc.

 

Role of Service Providers in the Refund Process:

Service providers are obligated to participate actively in the refund process by promptly submitting all requisite documentation and information necessary to expedite the processing of refunds.

 

Compliance with Local Laws:

The refund procedures adopted by TaskOpus are designed to comply with the consumer protection laws of Ontario. These procedures ensure equitable treatment of both customers and service providers within the legal framework of the jurisdiction.

 

Time Frame for Refund Completion:

Upon approval of a refund, TaskOpus shall process and issue the refund within a period of tem (10) days, contingent upon the configurations of the Stripe payment system. This timeframe is established to ensure the expedient return of funds to the customer. 

 

Changes in Service Scope:

Should there be any modifications to the scope of a service subsequent to its confirmation but prior to its execution, TaskOpus commits to making the necessary adjustments or providing refunds as appropriate. The calculation of such adjustments or refunds will be based on the revised scope of service and will be clearly communicated to all parties involved prior to the implementation of any changes.

It should be noted that each instance of an order error correction will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. TaskOpus has implemented robust measures to protect against potentially fraudulent claims from either customers or service providers, taking into consideration a variety of factors pertinent to each case. 

In the event that a refund request is determined to be deceptive, fraudulent, or unsubstantiated, TaskOpus reserves the unilateral right to impose a fee commensurate with the resources expended in the investigation of such a request. This fee will account for the time, effort, and labor expended in verifying the authenticity and validity of the refund claim.

By engaging with the services provided by TaskOpus, you hereby acknowledge and agree to adhere to this refund policy. It is incumbent upon both customers and service providers to fully understand and comply with their respective rights and obligations as stipulated under this policy, as this understanding forms an integral part of the contractual agreement to utilize the TaskOpus platform.
